This past week I had called the payroll office for the military because they failed to transfer all of his deposits to our new bank account. I had done the request on line but there was no way to use the site to correct the error. They asked to speak to Cowboy to obtain permission to talk to me and when they asked him his social security number he didn't remember it and then they wouldn't talk to me. Said would send me a letter. Since it was their error I asked for an exception but was refused
I got the letter today and it tells me I have to get appointed by the court as his guardian before they will take requests from me. (so ironic, since I have been handling this type of thing for years on line for him). By the time I get a lawyer, wait on a court date, etc. it may not matter anymore. What to do???
We had yet another new person this past Friday. I had asked for the extra three hours so I could go talk to the VA about still another matter. Got 2 letters. One appointed me to handle his VA allotment (is the irony coming through yet). Of course, that is not the allotment this is screwed up. atleast that is settled. The other requested more medical information for their review of his VA rating. I got some guidance about what the doctor needs to provide and the forms for him to sign.
I even had time to stop by Hobby Lobby and buy a small artificial tree with my 40% off coupon for a corner in the living room. Except for maybe making a table runner and/or place mats and the long delayed stained glass transom the project is finished. It does make me feel good in a muted sort of way.
We had a quiet weekend. I even got in a good walk with the dog and we got a good bit of rain. I took Cowboy to McDonald's Sunday morning and then to the grocery store. He held on to the cart and walked around with me but was very tired by the time we finished and I just got a few items.
I got up this morning and went walking again. Household chores kept me busy a good bit of the day.
Tomorrow we have an appointment with the doc to get the forms done and I am going to give Cowboy a manicure and pedicure in the morning before we go. He still has some issues with his skin and when he scratches he ends up with dried blood under his nails. It looks like dirt but it isn't.
