I was expecting Marsha today and planned to go to the base but she didn't come. I called the agency and apparently she had emailed them that she had to care for her Dad but they didn't get the message. Change of plans. They will send someone Friday. That means I will miss the ladies neighborhood coffee but not a huge deal.
I went by and picked up the letter that the doctor agreed to do for the VA. He didn't write exactly what I had asked but I think it will work. I called my financial advisor about the need to be a "guardian". He has an attorney he is going to refer me to.
There are a whole bunch of wrinkles when you are trying to handle someone's affairs. Maybe I should have done the guardian thing a while back but no one was advising me that I needed to. Just about all business can be done on the internet these days and I have always done all of that so this is a bit irritating.
Today I took Cowboy with me and got some chinese food and picked up some sheets that were on sale. He has bled all over two sets of sheets and they are OK but the stains are never going to completely come out. I am going to leave these in the wrapper until we are done with the skin problems. Things like that are gone if you don't get there the first day of the sale. Why does it have to be like that?
I have had a couple of folks ask me the status on the state veterans home. Cowboy is on the list. I talked to them a few weeks ago to make sure nothing had changed. They are predicting late this year at the earliest that they will have an opening. I don't know what I am going to do. Will probably depend on how he is doing at that point. There are some who recommend that the client be put in the home before they lose their way completely because they adjust better. I wonder if that is true. I can't imagine that Cowboy is going to be even a little bit happy.
